Three-legged Pug with Glowing Eyes

Roy!

Just a little update, since not a lot has been going on in the world of Roy the pug. First off, Roy is a nice 14 lbs now. He’s only 6 months old! He’s almost on the thin side too. He’s going to end up being a big boy.

Roy has learned a new trick, “speak.” It was very easy to teach him. He’s also in the process of learning to catch treats when we toss them in the air. He’s also been practicing his sits, downs and leave its. He’s got them down pretty well, but we want to make sure he’s almost perfect for his next training class that starts in October. We want to work on heel, but we can’t do that since he’s not supposed to go outside except to go poop or pee.

Friday will be a big day for Roy. We’re hoping it will be the last day of the broken toe hiatus. He will be at the vet all day because he is being neutered and having his umbilical hernia removed. They will also x-ray his foot to see how everything is and hopefully it will be all healed and he can go back to running around! He is also going to get microchipped while under anesthesia, so he will be a techno-pug.

Roy has been growing up too. He is learning to spend 6 or so hours home alone without being in a crate. He’s been really good about it and hasn’t ruined anything or left us any surprises.

We hope that this Friday will be the end of this long boring hiatus and that we’ll get back to the dog parks regularly and have some fun!
