Roy & Gwen's Pug Blog - The Adventures of Two Little Pugs

Gwen isn’t feeling well at all. Earlier this evening she vomited a few times and wouldn’t eat all her dinner (very odd for her). Then she couldn’t get comfortable and whenever she laid down her legs would spasm. We thought this was really odd so we took her to the emergency vet. They think she just has a very upset stomach. They gave her pain meds and subcutaneous fluids to stay hydrated since she can’t eat or drink anything until tomorrow. Gwen isn’t doing much better though. She’s really messed up and completely unlike her usual self. We hope she’s doing better tomorrow or else we need to go back and get her stomach x-rayed.

Update: We’re pretty sure Gwen is having an allergic reaction to something, and it’s not her stomach. She has hives and her face is swollen up and she’s sooo miserable it’s almost making me cry. She can’t get comfortable as she must be itchy all over. We got some Benadryl and hopefully she’ll be feeling better soon. I’m going to stay up overnight with her to make sure she doesn’t have any breathing problems. One thing that isn’t good is we know she’s allergic to something, but we don’t know what it is.

Update #2: Gwen is doing a lot better! The benadryl really helped her symptoms subside and helped her get a goodnight sleep. I didn’t sleep too well though! She’s eating a bland diet of chicken and white rice and she is not impressed! We don’t think the issue was really her stomach, so we’ll probably go back to her regular food tonight.
